Travertine fireplaces: modern details

The charm of the fireplace is undeniable. It warms the environment not only with fire but also by immediately giving a familial character.
There are many rustic and country-style versions suitable for country or mountain homes.

But today the fireplace is a style detail that fits well in modern and sophisticated environments, not only in living rooms or open spaces but also in the bedroom.

We show you two examples where the travertine fireplace strongly characterizes the environment, enriching the space it occupies.

In this project of a House with pool designed by interior designer Jamie Beckwith, the Gothic-style property has been adapted as a weekend and guest retreat.

In this project, the designer mixed various materials such as plaster, wood, travertine walls, frescoes, furnishings, and carpets, giving the environment a modern yet warm style.

The Gothic style of the architecture, visible in some touches, has been modernized with clean lines and soft colors.

In the living room, there is an imposing travertine-clad fireplace, with an elegant and contemporary flavor.

The open environment ensures a dialogue between the fireplace and the kitchen, which features a characteristic resin countertop in a vibrant yellow hue.

A fireplace clad in natural stone can adapt to any environment and harmonize with any material and color.

In this second example, we are within a project by the Phil Kean Design Group for a house in “NeMo” style, a fusion of “New” and “Modern”, a sophisticated design idea inspired by architects like Wright or Schindler, aiming to create a new concept of classic and modern design together.

In this home, there is a great quality in the choice of materials but also attention to new technologies to enhance the sense of well-being and comfort. In particular, the bedroom with a large adjacent bathroom is a tribute to luxury and relaxation, where the use of natural materials and neutral colors combine to give the house a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

It indeed resembles a spa suite, very bright, with large-format rectangular travertine floors and large sliding doors and windows to connect with the outside.
Travertine is present in the bathroom, on the shower walls, and on the sink countertop.

But the “warmest” detail is the fireplace clad in split travertine in the bedroom.
The environment indeed gains warmth, and the volumetric use of travertine in the various spaces strongly characterizes them while remaining homogeneous.
Additionally, the natural light with these neutral gray and beige tones of the stone creates a harmonious and tranquil atmosphere.

The result is an environment that is certainly elegant and luxurious but modern and welcoming.
