The use of stone in the projects of architect Leonardo Mannini
Leonardo Mannini is an architect who has been working since 1991, combining tradition with modernity. Descended from a family that has been in the construction industry for generations, he learned the trade of building sites, restoration, and construction from a young age.
In his works, you can see this ancient knowledge he carries within him.
Below is an in-depth look at his works and his approach to natural materials.

Natural materials are always part of his aesthetic choices, and for this reason, the collaboration with Pietre di Rapolano has been renewed for a long time, from project to project.
The following images describe some of the works carried out together.

A small construction in the outskirts of Florence was characterized by dark travertine slat cladding, with varying heights and lengths.

Various interiors have been created by choosing natural stone floors and coverings capable, with their unique colors, of defining the style of the final environments, according to the architect’s aesthetic choices.
For the living room, Nuvolato PDR031 travertine with a light and uniform appearance was chosen, a bright and elegant selection.
In the bathroom, however, a travertine with intense shades, Zebra Royal PDR043 characterized by cross-cutting in beige and brown tones, was chosen.

For stairs, windowsills, public and private pathways of the building, a gray stone with a flamed finish was chosen, which fits well into the context.

A construction in Sesto Fiorentino, founded on a massive stone masonry base, lightened by a roof supported by slender steel pillars, houses apartments from whose windows one can enjoy a magnificent view of Monte Morello.

A new construction by Leonardo Mannini is rising: the collaboration with Pietre di Rapolano is renewed. In the photos, the architect explains what he is looking for, the effects he intends to achieve, the materials he wants to use.

The project that will rise in Sesto Fiorentino, two residential buildings, will see the use of natural stone cladding in the stairs and interiors.

Here are some images of his studio located in Sesto Fiorentino.
