Stone kitchen countertops
For the creation of kitchen countertops, natural stone is one of the most commonly used materials. Marble, granite, stones, and travertine, with their wide range of colors, are very well-suited for this purpose.
Our company handles on-site measurements, executive drawings, providing countertops, and upon request, also the installation of these. Stones suitable for kitchen use must be compact to avoid being particularly absorbent.
Travertine and particularly Pietra di Rapolano are especially suitable for this use, being hard, not particularly absorbent, and veined. The combination of worktops and sinks in the same material proves to be very effective. Even using reclaimed stone sinks, as in the photo above: the sink was purchased from a junk dealer. We created the kitchen countertop in white Carrara marble, with the groove visible on the right side of the image, which serves as the dish drainer.
Still on the subject of kitchen countertops crafted to also become dish drainers, the following image shows the combination of our solid travertine kitchen sink, the Double model, with a custom-made countertop of the same color.
This sink is not very deep and the dish drainer was created between the wall and the sink, thus saving space while still providing a large double-bowl sink.

In the following kitchen, the countertop is not very visible, but it is interesting to note how natural stone, used intelligently, can make a kitchen special. In this one, the countertop and the floor were made with our color Pdr031 Nuvolato. For the area between the countertop and the cabinets, a custom-cut slab of material from the same block as Pdr031 was used, but more veined, by precise choice of the designer who wanted a bit more movement in the vertical part of the kitchen.
The kitchen table was enhanced with a custom-cut slab of dark travertine, Becagli Scuro, to create a color contrast. Wood and various color selections of Pietra di Rapolano have made this kitchen special!

Other kitchen countertops, in different colors, offer other ideas.
One of the most interesting aspects of natural stone is that the same material, depending on the context, surface finish, and combinations with other furnishings in the room, is capable of defining an environment in very different styles, from modern to classic, from rustic to minimal.
