This year as well, Pietre di Rapolano, in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, organized a sculpture competition, now in its third edition.

For three days, students selected by Prof. Francesco Roviello, a professor of Stone Sculpture, sculpted a block of stone to transform it into their work of art.

The limited time allowed adds tension to an already challenging task. The commitment, effort, and emotion transfer from the artists to the stone through the appropriate tools to give it form.

The participating artists were:

Giulia Guerrieri (the winner), Maria Zanon (honorable mention), Beatrice Blosi, Fiamma D’auria, Cosimo Figliomeni, Greta Fila, Simone Nicoletti, Antonio Salvatore, Filippo Silvino, Ilaria Tamborini.
