Architectural harmony on the wine road
Travertine is a material used since ancient times: it is durable, prestigious, and suitable for covering areas that come into contact with water as it originates from this element.
For this splendid villa in the countryside of Bolgheri, travertine has been extensively used to cover various surfaces, both inside and outside the residence.
The choice of travertine
Especially outside, a material was sought that would complement the light ochre facade and wooden trusses to characterize and define the external loggias of the villa.
The choice fell on Terra Chiara travertine (code PDR013), a bright selection in the typical colors of the Tuscan countryside, used for the covered porch and the area near the pool.
The chosen format is “Comp 40”, a distinctive combination of various rectangular and square pieces that create a random format effect, typical of ancient pavements. The dimensions of the pieces in this composition are: 20×20 – 20×40 – 40×40 – 40×60.
For the area around the pool, the color Autumn (code PDR029) was used, a natural material with very particular chromatic variations. The base is beige with marked shades and “clouding” ranging from light beige to light brown. The chosen format for this area is 40.6×61.0×1.3 cm.
Terra Chiara Travertine
Also for the interiors, particularly the living room and the connecting kitchen, Terra Chiara travertine was used. Given the spacious environment, the Comp 40 format was used again: in the same material, we also find the kitchen floor and the connecting steps; the result is homogeneous and natural and perfectly complements the modern-cut dark wood furniture.
Even the master bathroom was clad in stone for both the floors and the cladding with Avana mix 10×10 pebble in various shades of beige, ochre, and pink that covers the main wall.
