Luxury, spectacle, and excellence overlooking Bel Air

On the hills surrounding Los Angeles, in Bel Air, Michael Bay, a renowned film director, commissioned an incredible villa of nearly 3000 square meters.

The original project was conceived by architect Chad Oppenheim from Miami, while the architecture firm Rios Clementi Hale Studios from Los Angeles oversaw its realization.

The interiors, however, were entrusted to interior designer Lorraine Letendre, who, along with decorator Lynda Murray, defined the furnishings, details, and finishes of the various spaces.

What stands out most in the project is the volume created in the upper part of the villa, a true suite defined by windows that open onto the valley below and the vast metropolis.

The choice of travertine

The master bathroom in this area is deliberately spectacular and luxurious, and it was made entirely of Becagli Chiaro travertine (code PDR006). The stone covers walls, floors, as well as the shower, the solid wood bathtub, and the bathroom cabinet.

An environment that has the colors of the mountains and nature, chosen for the walls in its most material finish: the stone crust, rough and rugged, as an expression of nature’s slow work.

The pieces were cut to obtain smooth slabs on one side, but rugged on the other and in large format, to meet the designers’ needs, who wanted slabs that were always wide, clean, and expressive.

Pietre di Rapolano took care of all the technical drawings necessary for the processing and production, including for the solid stone bathtub, the covering slabs for the cabinet, and the large format tile flooring.

The result is a unique and excellent project resulting from the collaboration of internationally renowned professionals.
