Between Innovation and Tradition

In the historic center of Florence, on the Arno Riverbanks, a prestigious residence was renovated based on a project by the Melucci Nardini Associati architecture studio.

The architects have always favored traditional construction materials for their projects, albeit reinterpreted in a contemporary way: wood, natural stones, travertine, and particularly Pietra di Rapolano.

The choice of travertine

For the residence, which spans two floors, our travertines were used for the bathrooms, the kitchen, and the interior stairs. The chosen colors range from light travertine to dark and veined, depending on the rooms and the desired chromatic effects.

The circular staircase, located at the entrance of the house, was custom-made in walnut travertine, su misura in travertino noce, selezione Becagli dark selection (code PDR011). For the master bathroom, a lighter and more uniform selection of Pietra di Rapolano Nuvolato (code PDR031) was chosen, using standard size slabs (45.7x91x1.3) for the floor and bathroom cladding, and custom pieces for the bathtub top and the bathroom cabinet that encloses a white ceramic sink.

A luxurious and elegant bathroom carefully decorated with artist prints, chrome details, and a skillful use of light that enhances the bathtub and the wall behind it.

Custom-sized slabs

The use of custom-sized slabs, along with standard pieces, facilitated cost optimization while maintaining the prestige and uniqueness of an environment made of natural stone.

Other details of the house were made in Pietra di Rapolano Nuvolato selection, such as the internal connecting steps, the base of the modern fireplace, or the kitchen countertops and flooring.
