Prestige and warmth
In Mörigen, in the district of Bienne overlooking the picturesque lake of the same name, a private villa was built based on a design by B. Müller’s Architekten AG.
The large villa employed natural materials for stairs, interior floors, and bathrooms: the client desired the use of warm and welcoming elements for the bathrooms, and more prestigious ones for the public areas of the house.
Through discussions between the client, the designers, and Pietre di Rapolano, the most suitable materials were chosen to meet their requests.
Travertine bathrooms with warm tones
We handled the creation of all the bathrooms, in different colors according to needs: travertine with its warm tones and typical structure seemed the most appropriate choice and immediately met the owner’s taste.
The main bathroom was made in Terra Chiara (code PDR013) with Duomo finish (brushed, unfilled): given the importance of this space, the largest possible slabs were chosen, thus outside standard production.
The shower trays, sinks, and bathtub were custom-made and based on an original design to perfectly fit the bathroom dimensions.
The bathtub was made from a single large block of carved travertine and thanks to our working method, which involves sharing images with the client during all phases of realization for particularly valuable pieces, the client was able to see the block gradually take shape, transforming into the current bathtub. The splendid solid wood furniture you can admire in the photos is also our work.
Bianco Carrara and Bardiglio Mosso
In the living room, a custom-designed floor was created alternating colors of Bianco Carrara and Bardiglio Mosso with a glossy finish. The staircase was created in the same color alternation, using slabs 5 cm thick. The flooring of the towers involved the use of special pieces to adapt to their octagonal shape: the various components were pre-laid in the laboratory to ensure everything fit perfectly.
We are proud to say that all the special pieces used in this project derive from surveys and executive drawings by our technicians.
