Materials that bear witness to the past
A splendid farmhouse on the Tuscan hills, near Impruneta, has been finished using Pietra di Rapolano flooring, both for the interiors and exteriors.
Tuscan farmhouses owe part of their beauty to the materials that constitute them: the stones of the walls are those that farmers collected directly from the fields, part of the hills, material of which the Tuscan countryside is “made”.
For this reason, for the renovation project, locally sourced natural stones were chosen.
The choice of travertine
For the interiors, Light Blend (code PDR067) was used for the kitchen and living area with a fireplace: it is a material that perfectly matches the kitchen furniture made with antique wood. The chosen finish “Duomo” (brushed only), gives the environment a lived-in feel, which however enhances the beauty of the furniture and highlights the country chic style of the house.
The same travertine was used in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and connecting areas to provide uniformity to the spaces.
Carefully chosen details
All the details of the house were carefully chosen: the doors are those found in the house before the renovations, which, although renewed, have retained the ancient hardware elements and the layers of overlapping color, testimony of a long past.
The exteriors were also paved in Autumn selection travertine (code PDR029): a material with intense shades and hints of red, perfect for the context in which the house is located.
