Press review: interview on the Vanni Mag blog

The historic Sartoria Vanni of Florence, founded in 1818, has recently added an online service for bespoke garments to its traditional tailoring workshop. Their garments, always associated with Made in Italy and craftsmanship, are now presented through a blog, Vanni Mag, which aims to represent typically Italian style through the stories of various personalities.

Roberto Polvani, one of the partners of Pietre di Rapolano, was interviewed by the blog, discussing the company and a work that intertwines the richness of the material with the craftsmanship of the processes and a contemporary taste.

Pietre di Rapolano carefully selects travertines and marbles with great expertise, offering its clients a wide range of products that include flooring and cladding, elegant mosaics, and washbasins with exclusive designs. These artifacts are crafted through meticulous processing that utilizes the latest technologies and artisanal know-how. A comprehensive service appreciated by international clients and design and architecture professionals worldwide.

Your company is located on the tranquil hills of Florence, a place associated with a glorious past. What is your source of inspiration?
The workplace is my source of inspiration. I am fortunate to collaborate with designers and talented young people: their creativity and commitment provide me with an endless supply of energy and motivation.

What has been your greatest professional satisfaction?
Certainly providing the travertines for the Mexico Pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan, a majestic project by architect Francisco López Guerra Almada. And continuing to work with architects and companies internationally.

Can you tell us about your favorite project you are currently working on?
I cannot reveal anything, but it is a food-related project that will open soon.

How would you describe the influence that Florence has and has had on your life and the choices you have made?
Living in this city is certainly a privilege, not only for the beauty of the place and the culture that surrounds it but also for the richness of the Tuscany region. It is no coincidence that our products are made in this region, which has always inspired artists and designers over the centuries.

How do you behave at a dinner?
At dinner, I am a very curious and open guest, always looking for new experiences and interesting stories.

How would you describe your style?
When not meeting clients, I prefer a casual and informal look, a well-tailored jacket paired with a shirt and my favorite jeans, ideal for various occasions. In any case, I pay attention to quality and prefer Made in Italy garments.
