Mirrored walls for interiors: the ever-current trend
Usually, mirrored walls are used to visually enlarge a confined space; however, that’s not all they can do, as there are many other decorative and practical tasks they can solve.
From the 1970s to the 1990s, mirrored walls were the undisputed stars of every room—and there was a reason for this: they can add depth to a room and make it more inviting and spacious. But above all, they are a functional purchase for a contemporary home: we aim to gather a series of creative ways to use them and draw inspiration for an update to your home.
What is a mirror wall?
As the name suggests, mirrored walls are mirrors mounted on a wall that extend for the full height, width, or both. Mirrored walls became a popular design choice in the 1970s; however, contrary to popular belief, they are not at all outdated, and interior designers use them in various settings. Have we piqued your interest?
BLURRING THE ROOM’S BOUNDARIES

To achieve this, many mirrors are needed, perhaps starting with the dining room, where the table can be placed directly against the large mirrored wall. The result? The table appears twice as large. Additionally, mirrors used in this way visually increase the space, create different types of optical effects, and avoid joints between the tabletop and the wall.
MAKE THE MIRROR A STATEMENT
The idea is to use this feature as an artistic statement: and how do these work best? With warm colors and organic elements joining forces to present a comfortable and timeless space, perhaps characterized by wood and metals, also incorporating details in natural fibers. Like a living reflection, a treasure trove of extraordinary old and new objects can become the perfect “haven” for an art collector; or more generally, for a lover of beauty, and the dream would be to approach a design similar to art deco by using vibrant colors, floral details, and furniture with geometric lines, touches that can transform rooms into luxurious and opulent spaces.
MAKE THE SPACE BRIGHTER

Even if your home has large windows, it might have dark ceilings and floors. Mirroring the wall next to the sofa creates a double effect: all the light coming from outside is reflected inside, so nature seems to enter the house, and the reflected light makes the space brighter. The mirror adds depth and it seems as if something invisible escapes the eye: your only obsession will be an insane desire to dive into the reflection.
DECORATE THE WALL FOR DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS
First and foremost decorative. The mirrored elements become the main feature and framed in a picture, and, of course, they also have practical functions.

Many designers use mirrors to enlarge a small space to visually create a luxurious atmosphere; the concept is based on a fairy-tale leitmotif, perfect for creating luxurious rooms to live in.
