Light Rapolano Stone Kitchen

In a beautiful villa in Castiglion della Pescaia, architects Giorgio Cerrai and Cristina Razzanelli from Oustudio used Rapolano Stone for the flooring throughout the house.
In the kitchen, designed by them, the countertop is also made of Rapolano travertine.

For the flooring, the color Pdr 032 – Light Veined was chosen, a light selection with some veining: In a seaside house just steps from the beach, this choice is certainly the most appropriate. Upon entering the house, sand might soil the floor, but the veining of this color selection will make it invisible.

Travertine Kitchen Countertop

The countertop, however, was made from the same block of material used for the floor, but selecting the slabs from those that are more homogeneous and less veined, our color Pdr 031 Nuvolato.

In the photo, the two materials can be clearly seen, visually side by side. The “standard” production of the floors in the 45.7×91.4 format was combined with custom work for the kitchen countertops.

Rapolano stone is a material perfectly suited for use in the kitchen. It is a durable, low-absorbent material. In these color selections, it is very bright and lends itself magnificently to the creation of a modern kitchen in natural materials!
