At work: Cersaie and Marmomacc
We are always working on new projects, including quotes, construction sites, and inspections. At the same time, we are constantly searching for new materials and processing techniques.
This week has been particularly intense because, as every year, Cersaie is taking place in Bologna from September 28 to October 2, showcasing all the latest in bathroom design, from coverings to furnishings, and Marmomacc in Verona, the international exhibition dedicated to the world of marble and the stone industry, now in its 50th edition.

Now in its 33rd edition, Cersaie continues to maintain the interest of the sector, ranking fourth in importance in Europe with sales valued at 1.150 billion euros in 2013 (latest available data) and 872 exhibitors from 39 different countries.
Among the innovations presented is versatile and custom-made bathroom furniture that can adapt to irregular spaces. A return to minimalism with a strong prevalence of white, but also accents in trendy colors like black or blue.
Soft shapes with rounded corners even in compact-sized furniture. Ceramics increasingly imitate natural materials in formats and shades.

At Marmomacc, celebrating its 50th edition, there are many exhibitors from 55 nations with over 1,500 companies present.
In addition to the stands, there is also a special project dedicated to Made in Italy, “Italian Stone Theatre,” an entire pavilion curated by designer Raffaello Galiotto and architect Vincenzo Pavan, showcasing strictly Italian lithic technologies and experiments.
On display in one section are installations dedicated to the concepts of horizontality and verticality, divided into “Carpets of Stone,” a collage of stone floors, and “Lithic Vertigo,” a series of three-dimensional walls and stone staircases. In a second exhibition area, “Digital Lithic Design” showcases design and experimentation using digital tools and high-tech machinery to transform stone, with the machine increasingly becoming a tool at the disposal of human creativity.
A way to bring together the creativity and flair of designers and planners with the professionalism and technical and production expertise of the machines and companies in our country.

Among the curiosities is a restaurant created in an environment similar to a quarry and the incursion into the city with Marmomacc & the City, a project that dots the city with marble installations that will populate the streets of the center until the end of October. The route, created in collaboration with the Order of Architects and the Municipality of Verona and curated by architect Laura De Stefano, winds through the streets and squares of the center, showcasing the variety of marbles, some exotic and others resulting from new technology processing.
