Addams core, Barbiecore, or Bridgerton core: the decor that best suits you
The year 2022 marked the rise of Barbiecore pink (also recently released is the trailer for the Barbie movie, which is already predicted to be a box office hit in 2023) and, in the last two months, its complete opposite: Addamscore. The enormous popularity of Tim Burton’s Wednesday (on Netflix), centered on the impassive teenage daughter of the Addams family, has sparked a desire among many to incorporate a bit of gothic-chic into their home decor. This type of phenomenon, when current trends in fashion or interior design are determined by a series or a film, is not new, quite the opposite.
In this post, we will address the two trends described above, plus the equally vibrant trend linked to the Bridgerton series, and see how to recreate them.
What is Addamscore?

There has always been something fascinating about the Addams family aesthetic. Between Gomez’s perfectly tailored pinstripe suits and Morticia’s black dresses (not to mention her enviable lipstick), this quirky family certainly has a flair for style. And even if the super dramatic black look, inspired by the Victorian era, might not be for everyone, there’s no denying that gothic has its own glamour. Beyond fashion, we also believe that the Addamscore aesthetic translates beautifully into decor, home design, and accessories, even in the coming months. Although this look is certainly not for everyone (and its polarizing nature is part of its charm), a touch of darkness can be appealing in different homes.

So how do you recreate Addamscore? Just take a look at Wednesday to find out: Gothic and Victorian-inspired pieces are the main ingredient, but anything with a spooky appearance fits the bill. “We searched the world to find the perfect items for Wednesday,” said the show’s production designer Mark Scruton to PEOPLE. In your home, look for materials like velvet or brocade and decorative items including golden candelabras, wrought iron pieces, black marble finishes, and dark floral patterns (a nod to Morticia’s roses) work very well.
What is Barbiecore?

As the name suggests, Barbiecore is inspired by Mattel’s most popular doll, Barbie. The playful trend centers around pink and all its shades; think magenta, bright orange, and softer pastel pinks. Barbiecore is about embracing vibrant hues in everyday life and is a great opportunity to experiment with patterns like hearts and daisies – to bring a touch of carefree nostalgia to your home.
You can do anything, just as Barbie would, by painting the walls pink, or opting for neutral decor and introducing trendy pink furniture and accessories that are essential to perfecting the nostalgic glamour this trend represents. Our advice? Barbie has spanned over five decades, and there are many eras within her style that can be interpreted; therefore, choose the design elements from each era that resonate most with you, whether it’s flowers or neon pink accents.
And finally…
What is Bridgerton core?

The Bridgerton series, also on Netflix, is in its second season, with the third in production and set for release in 2023, has solidified a love for luxurious and opulent interiors. The various captivating characters, breathtaking costumes, and maximalist sets have an extremely contemporary appeal, and there are several ways to achieve a similar look in your home decor. Architecturally, the Regency era, which is the historical period where the events take place, features a mix of neoclassical design paired with a late Georgian style. For interiors, therefore, striped wallpaper and elegant furniture, candles, marble surfaces, crystal glasses, and chaise lounges, for exteriors, if possible, the right choice is to seek a certain decadence, allowing space for nature when needed, creating winter gardens if we have the opportunity.
