5 examples of extreme architecture
Today we present 5 truly daring architectural projects, where the connection to stone is more physical than aesthetic.
In fact, in these projects, more or less extreme, the constructions are literally attached to the stone, cliffs, hills, and mountains.
1. Cliff House by Modscape Concept, Australia

More than a residence, a true extension of the cliff. The house is structured on multiple levels, with access from the parking area located at the cliff level. The ocean view is incredible and it is truly an unusual way to live by the sea.
2. Casa 11 Mujeres by Mathias Klotz, Chile

A vacation home designed on a steep 45-degree slope on the cliffs near Santiago, Chile. It is a concrete structure with travertine floors and large terraces to enjoy the sea view.
3. Casa Paz by Arturo Franco, Spain

A giant box placed on the hills, a project inspired by Russian constructivism. A construction that is both heavy and light, resting on large concrete pillars. The structure offers a panoramic view of the hills and the valley.
4. Holman House by Durbach Block Jaggers, Australia

A box with curved lines resting on a 70-meter high cliff near Sydney. Fluid and sinuous lines for the construction that is inspired by Picasso’s The Bather.
5. Pole House by Frank Dixon, Australia

The construction, suspended 40 meters above Fairhaven Beach, is one of Australia’s iconic and most photographed buildings. Situated on a steel pole, it is accessible via a walkway with glass balustrades. Due to its shape and location, it almost resembles a large lifeguard tower.
